<li>Start a line with <code>#</code> for a heading</li>
<li>Wrap words in <code>**two stars**</code> for <strong>bold</strong>. <em>Italics</em>, <del>strikethrough</del>, <code>inline code</code> and links work too</li>
<li>Press Enter on a list and it keeps the list going</li>
<li>Start a line with <code>></code> and it becomes a quote</li>
<li>Misspelled words get a red squiggle. Right-click one for suggestions</li>

<h2 id=equations-without-the-hassle>Equations without the hassle</h2><p>Put dollar signs around math for an inline equation, like <math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mrow><mi>e</mi><mo>=</mo><mi>m</mi><msup><mi>c</mi><mn>2</mn></msup></mrow></math>. Use two dollar signs to give an equation its own centered line:</p>

<h2 id=never-get-lost-in-a-long-paper>Never get lost in a long paper</h2><p>The scroll bar on the right has a little dot for every heading. Hover over one to see the section name, then click to jump straight there. Or press <code>Ctrl + ↑</code> / <code>Ctrl + ↓</code> to hop from heading to heading.</p>
<h2 id=hand-it-in-looking-professional>Hand it in looking professional</h2><p>Save your work as plain markdown, or export it as a Word document or a rendered PDF. <strong>The PDF export is print-ready, LaTeX and all</strong>, so it's ideal for turning in assignments and reports.</p>
<h2 id=make-it-yours>Make it yours</h2><ul>
<li>Hide the toolbar from the settings cog</li>
<li>Change the background color, the font and the font color</li>
<li>Go full screen for a distraction-free view. A word counter fades in at the bottom left, and you can hide that too</li>
